Life Lessons from a Naughty Dog

...and her family...who's always awaiting her next adventure!

welcome...

As a wife, mom of two boys, home school mom, part-time parts counter specialist, surprisingly I find myself feeling very alone. (Not physically alone. My house is a zoo. Seriously.) I find myself so involved with the crazy occurrences of Maple Street that weeks can go by without meaningful, "adult" conversation. Well, except for my poor husband. Unfortunately, he is on the receiving end of my pent-up adult needs to talk about something other than video games, trucks, farts or fishing as soon as he enters the door at night!

Through the many seasons of life, I have discovered how God continues to use so many things to stretch and grow me--trails, victories, struggles, people and colorful personalities, and a hound dog—yes…my basset hound, Anna Marie.

It seems as if forever has passed since that first morning I sat to pen the initial story for this Naughty Dog site…Originally, this started out as place to share the crazy performances of my crafty old hound dog and how God reveled Himself to me, and others through her antics. As time has pressed on from that moment three years ago, so has life, and the growth, changes and events that come with it. Naughty has since left us, yet her memory lives on. She, and her naughtiness, reached many hearts and most that knew of her loved her. In our header, you can find her stories under “Naughty Dog”. You will also notice another title in the header, “Time goes on…” After Naughty’s passing, the family discussed and prayed. We were brought to the conclusion to use the Naughty Dog Face book page to continue sharing with our biped friends of our four-legged friends still in need of rescue. I was unsure of what to do with this page where I have shared our family, our stories. God has directed me to continue writing with the idea that time does go on, and there is always something to be thankful for, always a way to encourage someone. Writing has always been a joy of mine, and a help to “process” the events of my life. And if, by chance, any part of our story can help a person through a part of their story, or can help someone feel less alone—it is a story worth sharing. My greatest prayer has always been to use this page to show how God has worked in my life, and encourage others to know the saving GRACE of Jesus.
